Today I went for lunch with Megan and a friend of my mums to talk about the business world in Stockholm, with both of us being from different countries and just moving here we really don’t know that much about how to get our foot in the door. Although my plan is to study next year we wanted to have much of an understanding and pick the brains of a Swedish women who moved to the UK when she was my age but moved to Stockholm in the last two years and how she did it, what language she speaks most and just hear some comforting words of someone who has done it too and made it.
It is such a crazy thought that a year ago I didn’t know my boyfriend even existed; I was just traveling around Bali at that point doing yoga, volunteering at a turtle sanctuary and living my life. Then along comes someone who at first you don’t realise it but ends up taking your life in a whole new direction. But starting somewhere new isn’t easy, you start with little to no friends, you don’t speak the language and don’t understand how the country works, but I am getting there, I am making friends and slowly understanding the Swedish life. I am hoping that the blog will open up new opportunities for me and allow me to meet new people and give me lots to do. But we do miss the traveling life like crazy, the everyday adventure of just doing something new or random, never having a schedule and just living our lives. It was beautiful. So now we are trying to find a way of incorporating both the travel and working life, might take us a while but I will get back to you on how that’s going!
