With the New Year approaching fast, I am making different plans for what I want to achieve by this time next year. I always try to do this, like a new year resolution but more tailored to what I want to achieve rather than change. My main goal of this year is to start University, I want to study Sustainability and Business so that I have a better understanding of what I can do to make a difference and work within a business to start my career down the line. I am starting an online course in the new year, whilst I continue to save money and find the right course for me so that I can start my bachelors next September. But that gives me a lot of time to work on my blogging, my ideas about sustainability and learning lots more.
I have been going to a lot more sustainable minded events, and met lots of people who want to make a difference by changing things in their lifestyle, but one thing I am learning more about is that ‘sustainability’ isn’t just saving the planet and reducing out carbon footprint, but also about equality and education and helping people, there are so many points that we should take into consideration and it also gives us so many different ways to make a difference. I love this picture above that shows you all the little boxes that all together create sustainability, I met a gentleman who creates an Ale called ‘Not for sale ale’, it is with an organisation that uses everything they learn and the money to help rebuild communities, help women to find jobs rather than working in prostitution and lots more. I have tagged the link to their website here, they are a very interesting and unusual company in case you want to learn more about them. This is proof that there are lots of people out there who are working together to make a difference and tacking all the different sustainable boxes.
Are there any sustainable companies that you love, or get inspired by? In my journey with writing about ethic fashion and beauty, I am honoured to have got the chance to meet so many people so my number 1 goal for next year is to increase that number by a lot and to try and do some more hands on learning and share that with you. I have never done interviews before but I feel that having a better understanding of why people do the things they do allows us to connect and find it more interesting.
My other goal is to see how much waste I can reduce in my household, I would love to be able to live a zero-waste life and so want to find out how I can do that and share it with you. Imagine not having to take the trash out because there simply isn’t any, brilliant right? We recycle almost everything that we consume at home, making sure to not add to the growing landfill site, but I truly believe there is more I can do to make sure that less plastic, paper and all the other materials are not thrown away.
I will do a proper New years resolutionish list closer to the time, but as it is approaching quickly I wanted to show a little insight as to what will be going on here on my blog. I would love to know what things you would like to see more of, that way I can tailor more of my posts towards what you enjoy and create a lot more fun content!
Thank you for the help with your voting and I hope you have lots of exciting parties and dinners coming up! I will not be leaving a scrap of food waste this Christmas, that I know for sure!
