New hair, New sustainable wardrobe.

This weekend has been amazing, it has been filled with family time, learning new things and lots of shopping. I flew to London on Thursday to spend a long weekend with my parents and brother, it had been three months since I last went home and really needed some Mumma loving and a break from my very hectic life here in Stockholm. Friday morning Mum and I went ransacking through her incredible wardrobe to see amazing clothing she didn't wear anymore, to see what new items she needed to add and to make a fun and exciting outfit for the day.

After finding the perfect outfit for the day I went to finally get my haircut, it was getting very long and when that happens it gets heavy. I love long hair but now that I am older I find thats shorter hair allows me to do different hair styles quicker, doesn't get all hot during the summer and makes me feel like I have a mature haircut. I get my hair cut at the same place for maybe the last 4 or 5 years, I go to the home of a wonderful lady called Laura Astley (Link is here) who really makes me feel very comfortable, I can go and give her a outline of the type of look I want and not so long later she has created the exact look I was hoping for. I really prefer having the same lady cut my hair and if you are looking for someone to trust helping you colour, cut or style then I definitely recommend her. (This is for all my London readers!)

For the rest of the sunny afternoon mum and I explored the amazing second hand stores in a place called Shepperton, we literally spent almost 3 hours in only 3 stores and we got some amazing things, it was so much fun shopping with my mum, saving money and knowing that every penny we spent went to charity. I have sooo many new outfits to share with you, but what was even more exciting was learning how to alter clothes, how to use a sewing machine and to have a better understanding of sewing. I have learnt so much, I have learnt to alter the lengths of skirts and mum helped me to make my own outfits which this summer you will see a lot of.

I had the most amazing weekend with my family, I don't think I will ever get over the fact that seeing my parents is almost like a holiday, that going to my family home is a treat and only happens once every few months. I love my family more than anything and I love spending time with them, on my last day at home with only a few hours before I had to leave for the airport we just sat all together in the sun on the new decking furniture that we just built and I really felt happy. I am also very excited to be able to make my own family routes and see what the future holds.

This outfit is a mixture of mine and my mums clothing, I managed to get my white shirt back (mum and I swap our clothing a lot) matched with home created ankle jeans, a cute little scarf belt that works so perfectly for me, I lost a lot of weight when I stopped taking the pill and so struggle to find belts that fit me and don't have that stupidly long extra section. Scarfs will always fit and work well for me so are a favourite. But the best part of this outfit are my amazing new boots, okay by new I mean they are my mums and don't fit her anymore and so she kept them in hope that one day I would want them, and I really really love them now!

I will write down the brands below but I would love to know what you think and I will be sharing a lot more with you this week! I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with family and learning something new and a great start to the new week. I have a even more found love for sustainable fashion and have been learning more and more about it, I have a lot to share with you and hope we all start grow on this journey of discovery on how to make our wardrobe more eco and earth loving!
