Hello wonderful world, its about time that I finally checked in again and get a routine going now that I am settling into my new job. So let me tell you, I am working at Arket, the new clothing company that has taken Europe by storm. Its a beautiful clothing company thats core is all about sustainability, their swimwear is made from recycled fishing nets to clean the oceans, a lot of their polyester items are recycled polyester and all of the baby clothes and a lot of the men and woman clothing is from organic cotton. There are many more points and little details that make Arket more sustainable and the place to shop, not to mention I feel like everything is really high quality and will last a very long time. Its very difficult to working with clothing that is so beautiful, all I want to do is buy everything so am trying my best not to spend all my salary there. I have not been this happy in a work place for a very long time and look forward to going to work everyday.
With that said I take my hat off to every person who runs a blog and works full time, how do you do it? The only spare time I have I am so tired I just want to rest and turn my brain off or spend some time with my friends and Adi to relax and when I finally get a whole day off I have a long list of chores that need to be completed and don't even think about writing or taking pictures. However I do notice how much I miss it, I keep thinking about all the pictures I want to take and thinking about new places I will be visiting when I have more time. But today I am making the time and effort to do what I love, to do some writing and catching up and then I am going for a picnic with all my friends and playing games and I cant wait.
I have a lot of sustainable products and updates for you. I am going to do a review of deodorants as I've been trying a few different types and then some suntan lotions that are coral safe. I also have been using new organic, natural facial products and have a few new second hand outfits to share. I will be finding a new routine now that I am settling into work, its only been one week of the store being opened so everyone is getting into a routine and I am slowly learning how to juggle my time even better now.
It has been gorgeous weather, in the high 20s every single day, I haven't had as much time to sit outside as I work until late most days but when I did have a day off last week I really made the most of it. I went for walks along the water, sunbathed in the sun, lunched with my friends and then I went for a photoshoot. It is a friends of @TheRetiredModel called Karl and he is amazing, it was the first time I was in a photostudio where we could just play around with lights and get comfortable behind the camera, the only times before it was always to achieve a type of image or complete a task. We only had an hour or so of free time but I love the outcome. Karl (Instagram linked here) really has an amazing talent and I would love to shoot with him again, what do you think of my favourite picture?
Beautiful boats and buildings shinning in the summer sun, it has been reported that this is the warmest May in Sweden ever. Isn't that insane, its been gorgeous of course but why is the weather getting hotter and hotter? How can it make sense that we have global warming slapping us in the face with UV rays and not everyone is making a difference, or even believe in it`? I am going to make some tips on how to make a difference in easy ways, I will start with plastic consumption as its so simple to make a change.
I have been learning so much more about sustainability working at Arket, it makes me so happy that I am surrounded by people who care about making a change and that I can share my new found knowledge with others every single day.
Now I am off to make breakfast and get ready for the day now but I hope you are all well and happy and I would love to know if there are any tips or information you would like to know more about? Or if you have learnt anything about sustainability recently that you would love to share. I hope you all have a lovely Sunday and I will be back to share some great ideas and companies soon!
